2024 Maple Weekend Events
Every year during maple Sugaring season, our local producers invite visitors on site to participate in the maple syrup processes. Pancake breakfasts, samplers, and tours are among the most popular activities. In St. Lawrence County, Maple Weekends usually happen in March but are determined by NYS.
During Maple Weekend visitors can watch syrup making from Brick Chapel's safe view hallway. Annual tastings often include cotton candy and pancake meals throughout the weekend.
Visit Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) during Maple Weekends for tours of the sugarbush and sugarhouse. There are typically on-site demonstrations with students from the Ag Academy program, which cover various aspects of the maple syrup process. Visitors are often invited to participate in the demonstrational activity.
2024 Note: CCE will only be open Saturday, March 16th. This year's demonstration wil feature how to make maple cream.
Finen Maple loves to invite visitors to take a stroll through the maple woods during Maple Weekends where visitors can see the tubing running amongst the trees where the sap flow is actually taking place. There are also on-location glamping sites to check out for future stays. You can also take a tour through the sugarhouse to see how the maple syrup is made. Samples of warm maple syrup are often on offer during tours. After the tours, made to order breakfasts are usually on the menu.
2024 Note: This year will feature an All You Can Eat Breakfast buffet.
The Orebed Sugar Shack invites visitors to learn about the Maple Tradition with four generations of Maple Producers. Free activities often include guided tours where visitors can learn how sap from a maple tree comes to the sugar shack and out of the evaporator as maple syrup or learn to tap a tree. On-site demonstrations are often on offer throughout the day, including a showcase of how different equipment works and different products are made. Samples are usually available and may include Maple Cotton Candy, Maple Syrup, Maple Cream & Maple Cand.
2024 Note: Enjoy face-painting, Horse-drawn wagon rides; (11:00am-3:00 pm), see & pet the Alpacas; chainsaw carving (Saturday’s only), a raffle for adults and a coloring contest for kids.
During Maple Weekends, tour the "off-grid" and "state-of-art" maple farm in the foothills of the Adirondacks. There is plenty of good parking with easy handicap access to our sugarshack, with a handicap bathroom. Their 100% pure "Organic" maple product will be available for sale.
2024 Note: Open from 8-4 and serving from 9am-1pm Sat and Sunday (both Maple Weekends).
During Maple Weekends, visit the newly renovated Southville Maple facility and take a tour. While visiting, enjoy some product samples along with learning the process of making each of them.
Sweeter Creations Sugar House collects sap from trees in the spring of the year and boil it in large pans to make maple syrup. During Maple Weekends, visitors are invited to join in on the sugaring season fun. You can help gather sap that will be boiled into maple syrup, and watch as maple cream, maple granulated sugar, and molded maple sugar are made. Pancake breakfasts are usually on the menu too!
2024 Note: Pancake breakfasts will be available for all 4 days of Maple Weekends from 8am to 4pm.
Sugarhouse tours give visitors the opportunity to have a behind the scenes look at sap filtration, storage and reverse osmosis, Syrup testing and grading, Syrup-making equipment, and bottling of syrup. Demonstrations and samples are usually on offer.

Woody's Maple has been a family owned and operated business since the early 1860's. Including the grandchildren, Woody's Maple is now in their 6th generation of Maple producers offering 100% natural maple products. During Maple Weekends, Woody's Maple invites you to come visit their modern sugarhouse, where you can watch them boil sap into pure maple syrup on a 5x15 CDL Master Evaporator! You can learn how they monitor their sap lines and check things like temperature and sap flow without even leaving the building. A favorite activity of course is always the tasting and sampling.

During Maple Weekends, Adirondack Fragrance Farm invites visitors to tour the factory, which produces a range of wildcraft maple candles, maple body milks, and maple drink mixes.

Visit the Apple Barn Market at Applewood Orchards to find local maple products as well as locally produced goods, ice cream, cotton candy, jams, jellies and other unique country foods.
