Moving up into the foothills, agriculture gives way to denser forests, cooler rivers, and an abundance of wildlife and fish species. Approximately 40% of the County is located inside the Adirondack Park’s “Blue Line” area. Straddling the boundary of the Adirondack Park region, Colton is geographically one of the largest towns in both St. Lawrence County and New York State.
