Explore the Adirondack Foothills

Visit the Adirondack Foothills

Moving up into the foothills, agriculture gives way to denser forests, cooler rivers, and an abundance of wildlife and fish species. Approximately 40% of the County is located inside the Adirondack Park’s “Blue Line” area. All ages and abilities can enjoy easily accessible waterfalls year-round with peak viewing in winter with skis or snowshoes, in the spring for birding, or in the fall when the leaves are most vibrant. Paddle remote waters and experience 360-degree views atop fire towers that overlook the designated “forever wild” Adirondack Park.
