Fall is the perfect time to explore apple orchards with the fam!
Applewood Orchards
Applewood Orchards offers a variety of activities for all age groups. Enjoy picking quality grown local fruit, explore the corn maze, pick a pumpkin from an extensive pumpkin patch, explore the playground, or host a work or family event. Not to mention the Apple Barn Market which features lunch and dinner items, baked goods, ice cream, cotton candy, jams, jellies and other unique country foods.
Kaneb Orchards
Explore a world of flavor at this seasonal apple orchard, where you can discover over 35 delicious varieties of apples! Indulge in freshly pressed cider, delicious baked goods, and seasonal cider donuts. But that’s not all, their award-winning hard cider is crafted year-round and available at local liquor stores and restaurants.
Canton Apple & Cider
Take a trip to Canton Apples, your go-to destination for heirloom and uncommon apple varieties! This delightful apple farm is dedicated to earth-friendly farming practices, ensuring that every bite is not just delicious but also sustainable. Explore their unique freshly pressed ciders with a variety of flavors!
Parishville Center Orchard
Discover the charm of this family-operated apple orchard, where every apple is grown right on-site—never shipped in! Join in the fun with their U-Pick apples and explore their well-stocked roadside stand during the season. They grow many varieties, including Honeycrisp. Their season typically starts in late August and runs until November, crop-dependent.
Mt. Arab is a great hike for families and those looking to enjoy some amazing views after a very short hike. The short trail is great for hikers with kids and pets, though it can be steep at times.
Visit the North Country Children's Museum for a day of fun with the whole family. Build and balance in the Construction Zone or run the store in the Kids Co-Op and Bakery. Explore the Raquette River in the Adirondack Water Play exhibit or light up your mind with a STEAM Power everbright art wall. The Playspace is especially designed for crawlers, toddlers and preschoolers, gets little ones moving with sensory and imaginative play.
St. Lawrence County is on the flyway for many migratory species, as well as having great locations for Boreal species. With so many wild areas and wide open fields, the area is a birder’s ideal vacation. Many of the local bed and breakfasts also cater to the birds with feeders in the yards attracting all types of song birds.
Barn Quilts are a unique North Country expression of tradition, character, and heritage. Spend an afternoon cruising the scapes to spot these beautiful handmade creations. A detailed barn quilt trail map is available to help you plan your route & see the sights.

Fall is a beautiful time of year to golf in St. Lawrence County. Our outdoor courses offer scenic foliage (including our mini golf courses) and when the leaves start to fall and the weather gets crisp, the indoor golf simulators will keep you in the swing of things!

Pickens Hall & General Store is a great place to shop for local gifts and goodies with a North Country flare. Discover locally made amish goods and wares along with freshly made chocolates and treats (made right on site at Pickens), plus a range of artisan goods. The third floor Opera House is also worth a tour if you've got the time whilst shopping.
The Nicandri Nature Center offers indoor exhibits on habitats found in the north country region, including large scale exhibit tanks with native fish and turtles. The exhibits are designed to be hands-on, fun, and educational for all ages. The center also connects to a 6 mile trail system that offers scenic hikes year round and groomed cross country ski trails in winter.
